High Commendation

High Commendation at the 2018 National Trust (QLD) Heritage Award:

Sunshine Coast Council was awarded a high commendation at the 2018 National Trust (Qld) Heritage Awards in the Agency Conservation Programs category for its Cultural Heritage programs.

The three programs nominated by council in the award submission were:

  1. From the Mountains to the Sea: A curated exhibition in partnership with the community, creating a sense of place and belonging to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Naming of the Sunshine Coast.
  2. Sunshine Coast Open House: A celebration the region’s architecture, offering behind-the-scenes free access to some of the Coast’s iconic buildings.
  3. Digital Stories and Films: Regional community stories connecting generations through knowledge, imagery and landscape.

Source Media produced Digital Stories with Sunshine Coast Council for all of the nominated categories that received the award.

At the LGMA Awards for Excellence Sunshine Coast Council won the Workplace Wellbeing category for our FRESHminds program. The award recognises our FRESHminds program as being at the forefront of Local Government best practice in promoting a mentally healthy workplace.

This award is something that council and Source Media are proud of as it really validates the creation of our FRESHminds video and the courage of the video participants in telling their personal stories.
